The B or Better Program for ECON-B251 (Fundamentals of Econ for Business I) at IU Bloomington

The “B or Better Program” is an exclusive program designed to help students succeed in ECON-B251 (Fundamentals of Econ for Business I) taken in person at Indiana University. This program is tailored to the “conventional” curriculum, which is followed by most (but not all) of the instructors. Notably, students who are enrolled with Professor Glomm should NOT enroll in this program (he’s a great instructor, but he doesn’t follow the conventional curriculum!).

Our program is designed to work “in-tandem” with the class, simplifying and fully explaining the concepts needed to succeed via a series of “in-person” sessions. To be clear, THIS IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR ATTENDING CLASS.

During “instructional weeks”, students attend a single 50 minute lecture on Friday which makes certain the critical concepts from the week are fully understood. There are three available times for these sessions. Students can attend at any of them, however each session is customized around a different instructor’s curriculum: 1:30pm (customized for Professor Schwendel), 2:45pm (customized for Professor Graf), and 4pm (customized for Professor Lantis).

During the weeks of exams, students will attend Exam Review Sessions in lieu of the Friday lecture. There are two such Review Sessions before Midterm 1, two such review sessions before Midterm 2, and three such Review Sessions before the Final Exam. Attendance to the sessions is strongly recommended.

Every Wednesday, students will submit any new grades they have received since the previous week. This includes Quiz scores, Exam scores, etc.

Students can pay for the program two ways:

(1) Pay for the entire program up front for a reduced cost of $399 (A $50 savings).

(2) Pay in three installments. Upon signup, students are charged $149 which covers the registration fee and first month of the program . There are two additional payments of $150 each; the first occurring on Monday, September 23rd and the second occurring on Monday, October 28th. If, for whatever reason, a student wants to withdraw from the program at any time during the semester, no further installment payments will be assessed. The method of payment used for registration will be the card “on file” and will be charged for the installment payments.

If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact us by phone at 812-340-6708. We expect very heavy call volume over the next several weeks so you may have to leave a message. Voicemails will be returned in the order they are received. An alternative to calling would be to email our Director (Bill). His email address is bill at campusts.com (please use the @ symbol when emailing Bill – “spelling out” his email address prevents him from getting spammed by bots!).
